Pre-requisites

Please make sure that...

  • your smart some devices have already been installed and are switched on.
  • the Smart Home Gateway is also switched on (led indicator is on).
  • the installation engineer has given you the IP address of the Gateway. This must be specified in the app to connect to it.
  • the installer has set up an administrator or user account on the MI (Management Interface)
LInDa Smart Home Router

If you use our LInDa Smart Home Router, the following default settings are available:

Username admin
Password password
System Key default
IP Address 192.168.11.1
  • Help
If you are reading this, you have entered the help section. You can find all the necessary information here to have the best user experience possible with our LInDa smart home application.
  • Upgrade to Premium
The basic version of our app comes with the option of adding one server with 10 free data points. If you find this amount insufficient, please upgrade to the premium version where different packages are available depending on how many servers and data points you require.
  • About
You can find the basic information of our LInDa smart home application and of our company on this listing. If you like our app, please, do not hesitate to rate us. We greatly appreciate any kind of feedback. The system information is also included here.
  • Changelog
Here you can view the latest and the initial release version of our app and the changes made.
  • Settings
You can reconnect to the last used server on start. If you tap on it, 3 option will appear such as:
    • always: upon choosing this option when you return to using the app it automatically reconnect to the last used server.
    • only if not disconnected: by choosing this, you will continue where you left off – either on the Servers screen or the app will reconnect to the last used server.
    • never: if this option is set and you return to the app, the first screen that appears will be that of the server list. By tapping on the server name you can reconnect manually.
  • Disconnect
You can disconnect from the server here only if you have already been connected to the server.

How to Add a Server

Upon starting our app, you can see a „+” sign on the bottom right corner of the screen. To add a server, please tap on it. (You must be disconnected from any (previous) server used with this application.)

  • Connection Name
Please, type in a name of your choice. With this name you will be able to see your system in the app.
  • Hostname/IP
You can receive this information from your installation engineer or system administrator or it can found it on the MI (Management Interface).
  • Username
The username is set up on the server by your system administrator or installation engineer.
  • Password
Providing the password at this stage is optional. After the server set-up process has been completed on your device upon connecting to the server the app will ask for your password. On the pop-up screen you may choose the option to save your password. This will save time next time when you connect to the server.
  • Use SSL connection
To secure your data on this network, please make sure that you switch this option on.
(It encrypts data connection with the Gateway.)
  • More Section
It contains the following: Connection URI, Connection timeout, System Key:
    • Connection URI
The connection URI specifies the API connection point on the server. The default value is usually correct, but please ask your installation engineer or administrator whether to modify this or not.
    • Connection Timeout
The default setting is 3 seconds. You may want to increase this time if you experience that establishing the connection between the app and the router/gateway exceeds this period of time.
    • System Key
This custom-made system key provides a secondary level of security but it is optional such as the SSL connection so this field can be left blank. The system key can be modified on the server. Please be aware that if you opt out of both security measures you may become a target of snoopers and hackers more easily.
Test Connection

After filling all the necessary information out, to see if the connection can be established and the correct data has been entered please, tap on this option. A line will appear at the bottom of the screen to notify you whether the connection was successful or failed. The message tells you about the nature of the invalid information.

Add Connection

After successful testing, add your connection by tapping on this button.

Server Actions

The app is able to register multiple servers. In this list you can see the servers you have previously added. You can connect to, edit or delete them.

  • Connect
There are two ways to connect to a server: just tap on the server name or hold it down and select Connect from the pop-up menu.
  • Modify
To modify a server, please swipe the server name to the right, then tap Edit or hold down the server name and select Modify from the pop-up menu.
  • Delete
If you no longer need a server, you can delete it in two ways:
    • by holding down the name of the server a submenu will appear from which you can select Delete or
    • swipe the server name to the left and press the Delete button.

Topology

Topology is like a map of your smart home. It can consist of buildings, floors and rooms which are interconnected to one another, which you can navigate back and forth. It also contains data points such as lights, jalousies and other smart devices.

Once you are connected to the server you will see the first level of the topology. From there by tapping on the item (e.g. building) you enter the next level of items (e.g. the 1st floor of that building). On some levels you will find data points.

Data points

The data point is a smart home device e.g. a light you wish to control by using this app. Some data points’ value can be modified e.g. the intensity of lighting. You can do this by tapping on the device’s (data point’s) name. On the appearing panel depending on the type of data point you will see different set of options:

  • a slider where you can set the desired value. To save it, please tap on the set button.
  • an on-off switch. It works like an average light switch on the wall.
  • a button. It works like a push button. To confirm the change you wish to apply, please tap and hold down the button.

For advanced users:

The number and type of elements in the topology depend on how your Smart Home Router is configured. If you want to add, remove or edit any of the branches of the topology, please log into the Management Interface on the router.

In the topology you can inspect and control data points in various ways depending on the type of the data point:

  • Integer (Decimal Number)
    • You can override the value of this numeric type if it is modifiable. Some data points are read only (think of current jalousie position vs. requested position).
    • The smallest set step of this type is 1.
    • Please use the slider to select the desired set value, then tap on the button below.
  • Floating Point (Decimal Fraction)
    • You can override the value of this numeric type if it is modifiable. Some data points are read only (think of current temperature vs. temperature set point).
    • The smallest set step of this type is 0.1
    • Please use the slider to select the desired set value, then tap on the button below.
  • Bit (Yes/No, On/Off)
    • Data point with two distinct states which you can switch between.
  • Button
    • This could be wired to any number of applications, for example Open/Close doors, control various smart home devices in sequence etc.
